TROUBLESHOOTING THE CAUSE OF SEAL FAILURE OR LEAKAGE:
If a seal is being replaced because of mechanical seal failure or leakage, it is important to evaluate the failure before choosing a replacement seal. Reinstalling the same type of seal could lead to the same failure. Changing the type of seal (or upgrading the materials) could drastically extend the life of a mechanical seal.
